I completely agree with the contents of the article originally appeared as Pakistan: Cut Off All India Links Pending Lahore Investigations. I paste it below for the continuity of reading. But there is one important point that was not highlighted as it should have been. Yes we know that highlighting involvement of Pakistan government’s machinery in the incident may not be very favorable in these circumstances. But we (people of Pakistan) have to fight hard, not compromising an inch now. In fact what we have achieved in the compromises for last 61 years. It cannot be worse than the situation which we are facing now.
So coming back to the point of discussion. Looking at the CCTV videos (as claimed by media, but I really doubt it [providing videos was also part of the plan]), the so called terrorists were very calm (in fact extremely calm) as you are walking in your home. They were definitely provided with surety of no ‘mishap’. So thats what exactly happened. And now as blamed by USA, Pakistanis on the payroll of USA, and India itself, that Al-Qaida (plus LTP) is behind this incident, seals the fact that Indian and USA are clear beneficiaries of it. Who else is beneficiary? Maybe Zardari who proved that he is more loyal to USA and India then Pakistan. The real thing would unfold within next hours when we will see the intensity with which they go after India. And what is the reaction of India. May God save Pakistan from these internal enemies.
The Pakistani intelligence report released by News confirms two things: It is time for Pakistan to take punitive measures against India and stop allowing India the use of Pakistani transit and air routes pending the Lahore probe and, two, that the U.S.-installed government in Islamabad facilitated the attack on the Sri Lankan team first by ignoring the intelligence warnings and then by trying to protect India after the attack. Considering that Pakistan is supporting Sri Lanka against the Indian-sponsored insurgency in that country, the actions by the PPP government raise disturbing questions.
The intelligence report released by News raises some disturbing questions about the role of Pakistan’s pro-U.S. government in letting the Indian attack on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore happen despite the advance warning by Pakistani intelligence officials.Despite knowing that RAW, India’s spy outfit, has dispatched terrorists to attack the Sri Lankans, President Zardari’s confidante and Punjab Governor Salman Taseer had the audacity to accuse ‘Mumbai attack perpetrators’ for the Lahore attack. New Delhi accused ISI of involvement in Mumbai. Was Mr. Taseer accusing the ISI of attacking the Sri Lankans? We know his government is keen on dismantling the ISI on U.S. orders and to appease India. Was protecting India in this case part of this agenda?
Sherry Rehman and Rehman Malik, two more confidants of the President and the government’s information minister and de facto interior minister respectively, gave this lousy excuse for not naming India for terrorism inside Pakistan. Both of them have said that their government wanted to show maturity by not accusing any country. The truth, of course, is that this particular PPP government is in power thanks to U.S. meddling in Pakistani politics. This government refused to name India for terrorism despite all the evidence because it does not want to antagonize Washington.
Unfortunately, a minority of ‘India-lovers’ in Pakistani media and politics sprang into action to defend New Delhi. The good part is that almost none of them has any credibility with the Pakistani public opinion and all the cheering they get comes either from New Delhi, Washington and London.
Pakistanis need to know this class of ‘India-lovers’ in Pakistan. Here’s a list compiled by Pakistani jouranalist Mr. Rizwan Razi who emailed it to me today:
- Mr. Najam Seithi wrote an editorial in Daily Times saying that “Lahore tragedy has not been staged and sponsored by India”.
- Mr. Imtiaz Alam said “India wanted to make surgical strikes but it was not behind this attack.”
- Mr. Altaf Hussain of London said: “It was not done by India”.
- Mr. Amir Mir wrote in The News “it was done by Al Qaeda.”
- Ayesha Siddiqua said while talking to Dunya and other TV channels that ” It was done by Al Qaeda”.
- Salman Taseer while speaknig live media at spot said “These Bastards are those who have done the Mumbai attack.’
Interestingly, U.S. President Obama seconded all of them when he said “It is done by Al Qaeda” and linked the Lahore incident to the tribal region. Not a single Pakistani government protested at this linkage which basically justifies the U.S. intervention in Pakistan.
PUNITIVE ACTION AGAINST INDIAInformation is accumulating on India’s role in recruiting and forming terror cells in Lahore, Peshawar, the tribal belt, Balochistan, Sindh and its largest metropolis Karachi. But until the probe is complete, Pakistan needs to reclaim some of its reputation by turning the world’s focus toward India’s use of terrorism as a foreign policy tool in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
The mainstream American and British media are so skewed in favor of India, their new slave-soldiers in Asia, that they won’t entertain the strong body of evidence that shows India’s record of sponsoring proxy terrorists.
Islamabad should pointedly accuse the Indian government and its intelligence agencies of attacking both Pakistan and Sri Lanka through this terrorist act in Lahore and highlight how Hindu terrorists have infiltrated the Indian military and intelligence establishments.
Pakistani citizens and media persons need to build the pressure on the Pakistani government to take the following steps:
* Cut off air, rail and road links with India with immediate effect. This should include Indian trade to Afghanistan via Pakistani territory.
* Deny overflight rights to Indian airlines.
* Stop the sale and display of Indian films and music in Pakistan.
* Check the role of some of the Indian writers in Pakistani newspapers. Some of these writers are using Pakistani newspapers to denigrate the Quaid-e-Azam and describe him as a ‘separatist’. Unfortunately, some Pakistani journalists see no problem with this at a time when Indian newspapers completely ban Pakistani writers in their papers, let alone criticize India in any way. Indian news websites outrightly ban Pakistani visitors who register in order to post comments. Indian writers should not be allowed to spread their venom using the Pakistani media.
* Take a stand on India blocking Pakistan’s water. The PPP government is deliberately avoiding confronting India on this issue under U.S. pressure.I urge all nationalist and patriotic Pakistanis to send letters to the editors of all newspapers, write on their blogs, and make telephone calls to live talk shows and make these points and build pressure on our government.

It was astonishing to see support of people of Ahmedabad for Lahore Badshahs during ICL finals. In fact they supported Lahore instead of their own Hyderabad team.
During preparation of a slide show about Pakistan for an event, I indulged into knowing something about Indus Civilization. It is one of the four earliest urban civilizations of the world. The other three being Mesopotamia, Egyptian and Chinese.
Indus civilization dates back to 7000 BC. During its evolution, it was a cradle for four great cities. Two of them named Moenjodaro and Harappa lie in current Pakistan, whereas the other two named Rakhigarhi and Ganweriwala lie in current India. Not surprisingly, both cities in India are near Indus basic, first in Haryana and the second in Rajhistan, respectively.
In Pakistan the offshoots of Indus civilization are spread across both extremes in Balochistan to the mountains of Himalyas. Interestingly, the spread of Indus civilization in India in not towards East (interior of Indian). Rather it expands towards South (current Gandhinagar) originating from Moenjodaro.
I do not want to draw any conclusion from this. But the coincidence of my intrigue to know about the nature of Ahmedabad’s crowd during ICL finals and desire to know something about ancient Indus civilization forced me to consider the following historical perspective. Ahmedabad is situated in Gandhinagar, an offshoot of Indus civilization originating from Moenjedaro.

Analyzing India’s stats, it is evident that India gained substantial progress in two indicators: Massive Movement of Refugees or Internally Displaced Persons creating Complex Humanitarian Emergencies and Sharp and/or Severe Economic Decline. They faced disappointments in 3 indicators: Legacy of Vengeance-Seeking Group Grievance or Group Paranoia, Progressive Deterioration of Public Services and Security Apparatus Operates as a “State Within a State”. Pakistan has primarily declined in Mounting Demographic Pressures, Massive Movement of Refugees or Internally Displaced Persons creating Complex Humanitarian Emergencies, Legacy of Vengeance-Seeking Group Grievance or Group Paranoia and Sharp and/or Severe Economic Decline.
Pakistan and India have similar problems. But India has gained in terms of Economics and Movement of refugees. We are building a pressure of refugees from within our terrotories due to following of USA goals blindly. As a result, group grievance is mounting. In addition we are not paying much attention to Economic downfall. If we stabilize our economy and stop fighting with our own people, we can atleast match India.
You can be irritated by word ‘jihadi’, but truth remains truth whoever the speaker is. “Pakistan Professor Hafiz Saeed Ahmed has said that India has agreed to send its 150,000 troops in Afghanistan in order to exert pressure on Pakistan. He demanded that the Pakistani government and Army shouldn’t remain silent at the moves made by US, India, Israel and Afghanistan who wanted to damage Pakistan.”

I like the way the author has disclosed the biased and deceptive Indian media. But I did not like his tone for so called maulvis. I think like terrorism we need to define maulvism as well. If Maulana Abdul Rashid Ghazi was an Indian agent, how can he be a maulvi? Or we intend to call a person maulvi who has beard and bad intentions at the same time. Then what would you call the majority who do not have beard and have bad intentions. Maybe a traitor. If beard is what differentiates a maulvi from others, please call them traitors too.

The controversy of ‘President’ Asif Ali Zardari’s meeting with Sarah Palin can be ignored if he ‘behaves’ like a President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan in matters which matter the most. But unfortunately he proved to be the real ancestor of Musharraf.
Maybe to keep Palin’s touch sensations intact in his hand, he hugged Manmohan Singh (twice) saying “You are the leader of modern India.” In response Mr. Singh congratulated him on election and “the victory of democracy in Pakistan.” No comment. Its pretty obvious.
Then the real issues; Kashmir and Terrorism. In the joint press statement after meeting, look at the contradictory level of intensity in two paragraphs below (not to talk of the reversal or order).
Severe action would be taken against any elements directing or involved in terrorist acts. President Zardari reassured Prime Minister Singh that the Government of Pakistan stands by its commitments of January 6, 2004.
Both leaders agreed that the forces that have tried to derail the peace process must be defeated. This would allow the continuation and deepening of a constructive dialogue for the peaceful resolution and satisfactory settlement of all bilateral issues, including Jammu and Kashmir.
In listed section pasted below, there is no mentioning of Kashmir at all.
The two leaders agreed that:
* The Foreign Secretaries of both countries will schedule meetings of the fifth round of the Composite Dialogue in the next three months which will focus on deliverables and concrete achievements.
* The ceasefire should be stabilized. To this end, the DGMOs (Director General Military Operations) and Sector Commanders will stay in regular contact.
* A special meeting of the Joint Anti-Terror Mechanism will be held in October 2008 to address mutual concerns including the bombing of the Indian Embassy in Kabul.
* The expansion of people to people contacts, trade, commerce and economic cooperation provides an effective platform to develop and strengthen bilateral relations. Towards this end it was decided to:
* Open the Wagah-Attari road link to all permissible items of trade
* Open the Khokrapar-Munabao rail route to all permissible items of trade.
* Continue interaction between the Planning Commissions of both countries to develop mutually beneficial cooperation including the energy sector.
* Commence cross-LoC trade on the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad and Poonch-Rawalakot roads on October 21, 2008.
* Modalities for the opening of the Skardu-Kargil route will be discussed soon.

The newspaper headlines in the mainly Muslim valley in India-administered Kashmir say it all. ‘Freedom is sweet, no matter how it comes’, says one. ‘People pray for freedom,’ chimes another, reporting on Friday prayers in the valley.[BBC News]
