Tattoo and December 21

While the people who want to destroy Pakistan are attacking on our Air Force installations, exploding bombs in the markets, and killing the lady health workers vaccinating the kids for Polio, we are busy in discussing tattoos and the “End of the World”. Its really sad to see the sorry state of our country. It is bad that there are many forces acting against Pakistan. The worse is that the political and military forces have no motivation and agenda to solve the problems. But the worst is that we as a nation are misguided and acting against ourselves.

While watching Bolta Pakistan, it was shocking to see a large majority of people taking the tattoo on the back of one of the terrorist killed in Peshawar Airport attack as an International conspiracy. Many online comments from users also confirm that a substantial population of Pakistanis still believe in sincerity of these people (See Stop wasting time discussing a tattoo). Sadly, these are the people who have access to the open knowledge and supposedly have some rationale.

Through some social media, it was revealed that the person with the tattoo was actually a “handler”, not a fighter. He was accidentally surrounded and ultimately killed. Nevertheless, just looking at so-called proof, how can we say that he was not a Muslim. And even if he was not a Muslim, he “was” acting with the Muslims. The reality is that the organizations such as AlQaida, TTP, LJ, JM, Uzbiks, Tajiks, Chechens act using the slogan of Islamisation. They started their activities in 80s, gained their peak in late 90s, kept a relative silence in 1st decade of 2000s, and now gaining their momentum again. These elements do not care who is in their ranks and many a times completley divert from their cause just to survive (read Salim Safi). And this is exactly in accordance with the human nature.

Unfortunately due to this conspiracy oriented mentality, these elements get local support maintaining active hideouts all across the country. They kill lady health workers in Karachi, they attack on Malala in Swat, they threaten journalists and place bombs in the cars in Islamabad. And we still think that they are sincere to Islam.

Our leaders such as Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan do not want to “hurt” these people. Our Army still thinks that they are our assets. Our Government is only looking for the money they would get from USA leaving these issues to Army. The saddest part is that we as a nation do not realize the truth as well.

USA after leaving the Afghanistan would left us on our own. It would make sure that the Afghanis keep fighting with each other for decades. They would be doing it following their traditions. And the pressure of extremism and “so-called” Islamisation would shift to Pakistan. Even if we rout these people after sacrificing a lot (blood, bread, grace, and even land), they would find a hideout in lawless Afghanistan, and there would be no end to it from Pakistan point of view.

While the whole world is working towards betterment of their people, we think that vaccinations are non-Islamic. At the same time, in spite of having a belief in the concept of the end of the World, we “are” the ones discussing what would happen on 21st of December the most. What a nation of hypocrites we are.

PTI intra-party poll in Islamabad

PTI starts intra-party poll to rid politics of ‘family controls’.

User Comments on original new above:

Btw, Total registered voters in Islamabad in elections 2008 were 481,000, If 88,000 are PTI members as per their official stats, that constitutes 18% of overall registered voters, which is alarmingly low (I take bold assumption of no increase in registered voters).

Also, In 2008, PMLN got 61480 votes from NA-48 and 45482 from NA-49 (These are Islamabad constituencies) which makes 107,000 votes. Mind you, Islamabad is one of most educated cities with vibrant youth there. Time to think for PTI policy members.

In response to the above comment:

I think having even 50,000 members in Islamabad is substantial. These are the people who are members and would definitely vote (if they have voted now). Just imagine how many dedicated voters are there for other parties. Few thousands in a constituency! I think 90% of the people can vote to any party in their wing (right, left). For urban areas like Islamabad, there is high chance for PTI to take a landslide victory, if they are able to raise casting by 10-20% and do not make a blunder in coming months. For me the best for PTI is not to mess up with other parties, be polite, humble, silent, and do the basics right (as that of this step).

Raising funds for PTI in the USA: Opportunity or Hypocricy

Is Imran Khan visiting USA and Canada to raise funding for the party, that would be used in incoming Elections? If that is the case, should he be congratulated or criticized?

Imagine that he is saying to Pakistan-based community in the USA to support him and his party, so that he can come into power. And then he would ask the USA to stop the drones and leave Afghanistan. He is asking the citizens of the USA to support him stop the USA. He should be congratulated that he will be able to get funds from the USA citizens against the USA. Or is it hypocrisy at its highest level for which he should be criticized.

The main agenda of Imran Khan revolves around his stand against USA policies in the region. But while asking for the support would he be able to state about it explicitly. Would he ever say that we are against USA and its policies with the same vigor as he says it in the TV shows in Pakistan? If not, he would just be another hypocrite in a crowd of it. And rightly so. It is because, how many of these so called supporters of the PTI donating to it, have courage to question their own government regarding what they believe is wrong. How many of these Pakistanis would risk something to help Pakistan get out the bad situation due to their own Government.

As overseas Pakistani, I see no bone in Pakistani community. Either they are frighten or do not have interest in building Pakistan in a positive manner. However, richer of them do contribute time to time. Imran Khan should also be congratulated of knowing this fact and getting benefit from all possible channels. As we say in Urdu that “behti ganga main haath dhoona”, but without bothering that the river Ganga is in India not Pakistan.

From Ijaz Jazi to Sheikh Rasheed

The focus of Imran Khan’ s politics is converging now to win as many constituencies as possible. A recent example is extending PTI’s support to Sheikh Rasheed in the same city where PTI gave ticket to Ijaz Jazi and was criticized first time for selection of “traditional” candidates with bad reputation. It was also said that if PTI cannot find a suitable candidate in a city like Rawalpindi, what would it do in rural areas. And with the passage of time, it turned out to be the case. Except for Javed Hashmi, we cannot see any “change” in potential candidates in PTI. And now they have endorsed Sheikh Rasheed providing a final verdict to the matter, i.e. PTI is only serious in winning the seats in the next election irrespective of how it is achieved. Support at this level does not come without demands. With each passing day, PTI is making its baggage heavier and heavier that would not let it even move, even if it wins the premiership.

And the core question is: where is the change. People in Minar-e-Pakistan did not come to give votes to Sheikh Rasheed. And if they did, we do not deserve any change.

And what a way to endorse it:
